Aqua Planetae es parte del Programa de Naciones Unidas para el Día Mundial del Medio Ambiente 2013

El proyecto de Carlos Montani fue incluido en el programa de PNUMA Programa de Naciones Unidas para el Medio Ambiente

El Día Mundial del Medio Ambiente es el mayor evento global en favor del medio ambiente. Aunque las actividades se organizan durante todo el año será el día 5 de junio cuando tenga lugar el gran encuentro en defensa de nuestro planeta y sus recursos naturales.

El Día Mundial del Medio Ambiente comenzó a celebrarse en 1972 y desde entonces ha crecido hasta convertirse en una de las principales herramientas de Naciones Unidas para extender la conciencia sobre el medio ambiente, llegando incluso a impulsar la acción política en este campo.

A través del DMMA, el Programa de las Naciones Unidas para el Medio Ambiente (PNUMA) puede profundizar en las distintas cuestiones relacionadas con el medio ambiente así como promover el poder de todos para convertirnos en agentes de cambio que favorezcan un planeta sostenible y equlibrado.
Es también un día en el que todos caminamos juntos para asegurar un hábitat más limpio, verde y agradable para nosotros y también para las generaciones del futuro.

Tu ayuda cuenta y el Día Mundial del Medio Ambiente confía en que tú también lo harás posible. ¡Haz lo que te parezca! Crea un equipo de limpieza en tu barrio, deja de usar bolsas de plástico y anima a tus vecinos a hacer lo mismo, frena los desechos, ve andando al trabajo... tienes un sinfín de posibilidades ante ti.

Aqua planetae is part of the United Nations Program for World Environment Day 2013

Carlos Montani's project was including in the UNEP United Nations Enviroment Programme

World Environment Day was established by the United Nations General Assembly to mark the opening of the 1972 Stockholm Conference.

Celebrating World Environment Day is about the inspirational power of individual actions that collectively become an exponential force for positive change.

Past World Environment Day thematic celebrations included caring for the forests, the ozone layer, desertification and sustainable development, to mention a few.

World Environment Day is celebrated around the world in many ways, including street rallies, bicycle parades, green concerts, essay and poster competitions in schools, tree planting, recycling efforts, clean-up campaigns and much more.

When we see or experience the negative effects of climate change and environmental degradation, it is easy to blame others - governments for not prioritizing environmental policy; corporate organizations for raising greenhouse gas emissions; NGOs for not lobbying strongly enough for the environment; and individuals for not taking action. World Environment Day however is a day we put aside our differences and instead celebrate achievements made towards protecting the environment.

By celebrating World Environment Day, we remind ourselves and others of the importance of caring for our environment. Remember that every action counts, so join us: every year, everywhere, and everyone!
